Therapy Time!
Exactly one week later, from a payphone near the library, Tom calls Dr. Schreber. It took him a while to get around to it. He spent the morning at a diner, reading the paper. The two new murders have once again made the front page. Police are puzzled over the missing number '8' and are hard at work searching for a body.
He didn't care much about the first six murders, since he didn't know the victims and had more important things on his mind. Now he cares. Last night... last night was weird. He suspects that Ume is somehow involved. But as long as she keeps giving him information, he's not going to kick her out. Besides, the company has been nice. Makes him feel a little less like he's going crazy.
He pushes those thoughts out of his head while he listens to the phone ring.
