I promised not to write in this thing if it meant filling it up with pointless shit about my day that no one cares/should care about, and that is why I havent written.
Im suffering from lack of controversial subjects which require little effort on my part, suggest if you have any ideas
Ralph Nader is a moron by the way, theres nothing like a mans vanity to jeopardize the removal of Bush from the office..
Actually, I just thought of something to write about
Clear Channel, or something like that, is this huge radio broadcasting corporation that owns like 600 radio stations. Anyway, they also own Howard Stern's radio show. Recently, they removed Stern from air and they are likely to be fined something like 275000 by the FCC because I guess Stern's show on Thursday was especially raunchy.I think this is something much bigger than it appears.
I feel like Stern is an idiot and frankly I dont think drunk midgets are all that funny. (okay im lying) Anyway, Stern reacted to all of this with anger because they violated his contract and the whole controversy is ignoring the issue that people can just change the friggen channel. I mean for christ sake, its already on late at night and its only carried by 6 stations, you arent going to be exposed to it unless you go looking for it. Ever since fucking Janet Jackson we've been on this slippery slope of censorship where congress is going on this crusade to rid media of sex and all things improper. I think that we are retarded for a, reacting so much to the goddamn jackson thing, and b, allowing our civil liberties infringed on so quickly and with so little resistance.
The fact remains that children are going to be exposed to things which are likely inappropriate for their age, but it is the responsibility of the parent, not the television to raise their children. The superbowl thing is deserving of a fine because it appeals to a general audience and no warning was given as to the sexual nature of the performance, but everyone knows the Stern is a pervert and to allow this to continue will establish precedent for future things to be censored to "protect the purity of our children."
