Very *Un*-Friendly Skies

Alpha and Laura's wedding was a blast (I'll post on that later although Blair's post pretty much sums up what I was going to say anyway) and it was very unfortunate I could not attend the Sunday Paintball blast ;_; (In fact, as you'll end up seeing - I could of probably attended it AND driven home to New York before I actually got to my intended destination) It was a pleasure finally meeting Mattie and Wolf in person - they're both wonderful and amusing people ^^ (even if they're part of the 'Hidden Hills' conspiracy) I was also able to finally meet Thray in person as well as catch up with Marcel and Tony since I hadn't seen them in at least 2 years. Good times. Now for the not-so-good times. Blair, being the good friend he is, woke up early and dropped Phoenix and I off at the airport on time. So far so good... made it in time for my flight, everything checked out, and I was able to board. At the current time we boarded 15 minutes late, but I'm used to a lil backlog so that was fine. But, ah, like any good jinxing thought, it all crumbled after that. The pilot announced we would be stranded for an hour on the runway due to traffic. Ok, I'm patient... ::reads book:: One hour later the pilot announces we would be delayed at least another 40 minutes. I'm starting to get irked - but the free peanuts/snacks they were handing out and my random conversation with an extremely cute asian girl near me increased my patience level. (Too bad she lives in D.C. though, otherwise I would of asked her out, being the first girl to interest me in ages ((read as: The girl has cuteness AND a brain)) - God has such sarcastic/cruel humor with me sometimes) Oh... right... story *ahem* Let's see... so the 40 minutes turns into an hour and finally, we take off. The pilot seemed to be trying to make up lost time, but the pain it was causing to my ears as well as the insane turbulence it was causing to take place was not appreciated. Finally... we land safetly in NY and all is... no, not peachy. Almost immediately the pilot announces that we're stuck again on the runway (mind you it is now almost 7pm - I was originally supposed to land in NY at 4:30pm) and it will be at least another 30-60 minutes before we can dock. My patience was being tested... and the phone calls from my sister every 5 minutes wondering where I was weren't helping. Finally, around 7:40 we are allowed to dock and be let off. I say goodbye to the asian and make a mad dash for the baggage claim. Over? ::laughs:: Yeah right. Delta kept all the passengers of our flight waiting hours and hours praying for our luggage. Somehow, they lost where they put our luggage and were serving all the more recent flights before ours. Upon complaining, we were all told that we were not allowed to leave the premises without our bags so we were to be patient and wait at the claim. So, God, wanting to be amused, sends lil miss Asian back (she was supposed to be on another flight back to DC) to keep me company for the next few hours. Finally, after my sister gave up and started getting pissed - she literally dragged me to the complaints office and demanded I make up an excuse (I'm apparently very good at them) so I can go home. (my sister was in her right to complain - at this time it was past 10:20 at night) So I go up, turn on the kindness, say my piece, and finally get a claim ticket to take home with me, the airlines saying they will send my baggage when they find it. ::sigh:: In summary then, I arrived home at 11:20pm NY time (it would have been longer but my sister drives more insane then I do - fear the car when a Hendrick is angry... fear ^~) which means that I could of played paintball and DRIVEN back home from Mattie's and probably arrived home before I did. And I would of had my luggage -_- Well, at least all the important things were on my person. ^^
