The Day After Halloween

Nov 01, 2005 10:51

Awesome night. Got back to Tacoma and ran to the health food store to grab goodies for me. Spent $12.00. But I got lots of awesome treats of all kinds (like I had really been out trick or treating!). I got home, and then Adam got there and I ordered pizza for dad, Adam and I. Adam was being really loving, very touching and I loved it. It’s like we have fallen more in love since he got his job, and especially over our romantic weekend. Then we settled down and started watching Cursed. 30 minutes in I went to get the pizza and brought it home. It was the best pizza ever made and we all scarfed it down. I ate half a large! It was amazing! About that time Megan called for Dad and told him she wasn’t sure she would be able to go to Kentucky because she is coming off her meds (depression) and she is just not feeling up for it, but she wasn’t sure. Dad, being dad, said oh sure, whatever you need! I will support you. She said she would let him know. I am thinking, there is $500 of a plane ticket down the drain. But I didn’t say anything and we went back to watching the movie.
It was a great movie with gore, and humor and bad acting and good acting and punches of all sort. Best of all was the end didn’t leave room for a sequel. It was the best! We all loved it and talked about it for a bit before calling it an evening. Dad went to bed and Adam put me to bed. He left with horrid sinus problems and Sudafed and my well wishes. I passes out around 10pm.
Two rolls around and there is a phone call. It’s Megan saying she got Eric’s truck stuck in the mud. She is in Seattle at a frat party and needs help. The cops are there, but they aren’t able to get his car out. Dad gets dressed and heads out to rescue her. I sleep by the phone, get one call from Megan which I rely to dad’s cell phone and then I am out again.
6:15 rolls around and I hear my cell phone going off in the other room. It’s ringing not sounding the alarm and this early it means it’s Kitty and she is not coming in. I grumble out into the living room. Dad is recently back and gives me a sympathetic look before telling me he is taking the day off and not to wake him when I am out of the shower. Kitty is requesting the day off, and I am only happy to give it to her. I get into the shower. I get going. I get the 7am bus and I get to Seattle at 9. That’s 30 minutes late, but everyone else is late also, so it’s no biggie. When traffic is bad, it’s bad everywhere. And that brings me to know. It’s a quiet day in the office. I am going to read and chat with Mario and Kitty and think about how wonderful it will be to go to bed early tonight after eating some of dad’s fresh warm cornbread. mmmmmm
