My Sea-town homies.
Last night I was out and about with Nicola, and Bella her dog on the scooter when an asshole decided to break in the middle of the road without signalling before- so I crashed into the rear end. I have some bruises my left arm is a little jammed. Besides that- good. Right after I pulled onto the side of the road and Nicola started yelling at the guy. He was swearing in Taiwanese.
"WHAT WERE YOU THINKING!!?"
"pwoqierukaf;lkjdsf."
We look at each other and realize we just have to walk away, because we don't have licenses so if the police came, they would find it in his favor and fine us and impound the scooter.
The guy looked like Taiwanese mafia, which is another reason we booked it. Luckily the scooter isn't registered. A lot of bikes here are just sold to foreigners, who never go through the DMV and it passes from one foreigner to another, for so long, that you wouldn't want to register it, because of the hassle. I know that's not right, or exemplary, but it's survival. On the bright side, even if he wrote down the plate he can't find us, since it's not registered.
I bought bike shorts for the tri. I'm going to buy toe-clips for the bike, and Angel is booking train tickets and the hotel for us. I'm really nervous about doing this, but I've been training, so I should be ok. I'm just going for finishing, not breaking a world record.
I'm also getting a room mate. One of my friends here broke up with her bf, and needs a place to stay or it will turn into a series of scenes from the 'break up.'She moves in on Saturday.
Besides that I miss you all, and am trying to figure out my next move after Taiwan.
Suggestions, are welcome. The more bizarre the better.
