it was a good day...
So it started out as a kind of bad day - at the Department of Mysteries they made us read a strategic plan about the ministry of magic. And they made us take specific parts of the plan and to talk to the class about them - so, I had to talk about the "Death Eaters". Which was kind of uncomfortable because I don't know anything about the Death Eaters. I mean, I really like the people in my Ministry of Magic class - there are some people who have jobs that are a bajillion times cooler than mine.
however, after work I was talking to one of my friends from the class about the presentations, and he said that I did one of the best jobs during the presentation, which was a really nice compliment (sadly, i think i forgot to thank him for the very nice compliment.) but seriously - there are really nice people in my class - even the ones who are slightly intimidating because they've been aurors for three years, and i'm only the girl who does the cataloging of mysterious objects.
I got to leave work early (1 hour earlier than my hours pay for), and then my grandma called because she made pesto and cookies for me. And my sister was super nice and let me borrow one of her shirts to wear to work, and then called me later to ask me if I wanted to have a monthly-ish date where we would go see a play in downtown DC, which is an awesome thing.
and then today, i was checking my computer hard drive, and I realized that somehow, at some point, lots of space had been freed up on my computer, and i now have 29% free space on the c: drive, and 92% free space on the other one, which allows for plenty of programs. Hurrah!
in other news - i have the prettiest commute. even if it is early in the morning (especially because it's at sunrise), it's pretty much amazing. I get to see Georgetown University, and the Potomac River, and many many memorials and famous buildings (Navy Memorial, Jefferson Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, Kennedy Center, National Cathedral, Washington Monument, Old Post Office Building, Reagan/National Airport, Capitol).
And the season premiere of the office is in 5 minutes. Hurrah!
