So, I'm quite the Crafty Jezebel. In other words, I'm really bad at sticking to one creative thing, but am a bit of a whore about it. As this is reaching an overwhelming stage, I've decided to make some lists.
What I'm in the middle of right now:
1. A novel. 56,000 words, and I think about 75% done.
2. The Sipalu Bag from Knitpicks. Mostly done, just needs blocking and a button. Looks like this:
3. Excavating Cleaning my room.
4. Dying. I have five ziploc baggies of flowers, berries, and twigs ready to be boiled and given wool.
5. Spinning. I have almost a whole thimble of gorgeous mixed Romney being spun. I also need to finish spinning my BFL.
6. Reading. I'm halfway done with a book for class, discussion due Thursday.
7. Working out. 43 lbs down, another 97 to go.
8. Knitting--I'm trying to knit the Clover socks, some Queen of Hearts mitts, and some Smoker's Gloves for a knit-along.
HALP.
So, in order to get some control over my life and not feel like I'm a total crazy person who can't do anything properly because she's trying to do EVERYTHING (Jill of all trades, mistress of none?), and I hate to-do lists (dude, I KNOW what I need to do. Why do you think I'm freaking out?), I'm making an allotment list.
1. Allot 2 hours to my novel per day, and write 2.5k within those two hours. This will finish my book by the end of September and allow me to procure edits.
2. Allot 2 hours a day to knitting or spinning. As this is good to do during TV time, I'll be making a GREAT start on Christmas gifts.
3. Allot 20 minutes a day to cleaning. COME ON BITCH YOU CAN DO 20 FUCKING MINUTES.
4. Allot ONE DYE BATH a day. NO MORE. SERIOUSLY.
5. Stick to morning walk w/dad, afternoon at gym plan.
6. Allot half an hour a day to reading book. If I do more, I can get it out of the way faster, and hey, it's a good book.
The weird thing is, these are all things I really love to do. I feel like I spend all my time doing them, and yet somehow, I'm not getting things done too fast.
Also, here's a pic of my wool in case the pictures didn't come through yesterday:
The little splotch is where it hung on the nail. The offending nail has now been shellacked. I pretty much shellacked everything that wasn't nailed down yesterday. And a few things that were. Shellac shellac shellac.
Oh!
WHAT DO YOU GUYS WANT FOR CHRISTMAS??????? (You know the rules: request a knitted thing because I don't have money but do have yarn, the more I feel like knitting it the more likely it is you'll receive it, no particular order, blah blah blah.)
I'm totally getting a head start this year. I'm also culling! While I was doing my archeology cleaning my room, I found a bunch of completed knitted stuff from like, three years ago when I made a bunch of crap for you all and lost it. ...........Guys, who wanted what? I'll send them out like, tomorrow if you call them.
Also, I just have some knitted stuff that's taking up space, because I wanted to knit it but don't really need, you know, twelve pairs of hand-knit socks, eight shawls, and WHY did I knit all this baby stuff? Anyone know some babies?
I has pictures. First-come, first-serve, I'll send all this stuff out tomorrow.
The North Sea Shawl. I'm apparently going to make ALL the shawls in Folk Shawls, and I just don't have the space to house 24 shawls indefinitely.
I pair Thrummed mittens. They feel like a gorgeous cloud of the softest kind inside, lined with unspun 64ct Merino. Size Ladies Small
Rowan BigWool handwarmers. I'm POSITIVE these were a Christmas gift for someone.
starletfallen , maybe?
Weirdly fraternal socks in "Meadow" or something. Ladies' medium.
More socks. Might give them to my mom if no one wants them.
Yet MORE socks. Made of tofu (seriously).
Little felted green slippers.
caityjay , were these for you?
Frat fingerless gloves, made of bulky baby alpaca. Might keep these for self if no one wants.
Weird cable cuff mittens. Made of soysilk.
Hat, Ladies medium. Think it's alpaca and silk. Rather nice.
Gray hat.
orangenoslide , was this yours? I'll TOTALLY make you a better one. And, um, I can explain. I made up the pattern, then ran out of yarn. I'm better at knitting now.
BABY STUFF.
Bebeh blanket.
Bebeh sweater.
Bebeh dress.
Also have bebeh socks, but they're spoken for by a babymamma. But I can make more!
And the grand finale.............
FOR THE LOVE OF WOOL SOMEONE PLEASE TAKE THIS MONSTROSITY!!!!!!! I don't care if you only want it so you can see what happens when mohair burns, TAKE IT AWAY!!!! Do you know a cold elephant? Take it! Do you crave being both unstylish AND itchy? Take it! Do you just want to show your friends that at least you're better at knitting than that Corinna girl, because at least you know when a project SHOULD NEVER BE KNIT?? TAKE IT!!!!!!!!
