Going back to my bathroom...

Lighting and all that jazz

I am surprised at the amount of emails I'm getting asking what brand of soap I use. My point is, I like using white soap. I'm not into coloured soap. Whatever brand... shouldn't matter right now. I suggest you try stacking your soaps in a jar. They make a pretty installation and a nifty storage solution.

Back to my bathroom. Last week, the hubby did a "good deed." He employed our trusted-neighbourhood-handyman to check the roof and get it ready for the rains. When you live in a 40 year old house, this has to be done annually. We've never had any major leaks in the past. And even when it rained everyday in April, there were absolutely no leaks at all.

Remember that we went through a 4-month renovation process? All our bedroom ceilings and trusses were changed into a high-end brand of treated anti-termite-wood (the brand I endorsed). It took forever to construct. But the results were beautiful. Check out the photo of the complicated ceiling and lighting design my architect did in my bathroom. It makes the Bisazza show its irridescence better and the 24k gold shinier.

Well we've got a storm coming. An anomaly in itself because it's coming from Palawan side (not the usual Bicol side). There are warnings it could be a super typhoon. The house is supposed to be ready for the storm, with our newly weatherproofed roof. I enter my bathroom... the ceiling is LEAKING.

I don't know what handyman did up there. It wasn't even broken or leaking at all before he got up there. To say that I'm not pleased is an understatement. I want to scream.

Moral of the story: don't fix what's not broken.
