Beautiful, green Manila

Imagine if we had a "Central Park"?

It would look like this...

Hard to imagine that the Skyway is just at the end of the "park"

And that's actually Makati's skyline.

It's so beautiful, the kids wanted to go for a walk through the "forest."

This was the view we got at the executive lounge at Marriott Resorts World. We were able to find refuge there for one night when the last storm (Basyang) hit and we had no electricity or water for almost two days. It was my first introduction to Marriott and I must say, I really liked the character of the hotel. That "park" is actually the Villamor golf course. The irony is that golf course was my playground when I was growing up. We lived in Villamor Air Base. We used to catch tadpoles and chase frogs there. Do kids still chase frogs?

Executive lounge. I'm a sucker for business lounges - free coffee, free internet, pastries.

We never leave home without paper and art pens. It keeps them entertained the whole time. Until... the paper runs out. The pens are all washable by the way.

The month of August, they have Flavours of Thailand. Real authentic Thai food.

Yummy

My Tom Yum something soup. So delish!

The Flavors of Thailand will be available during lunch and dinner at PHP 1,350 nett for adults and PHP675 nett for children, while Sunday Brunch is at PHP 1,650 nett. Children below 12 get in for half the price and children below 6 get in for free.

Loved the furniture. I liked how this chair had a little side table that swiveled. It had a very 50's vibe.

I went back last week and shot a few episodes of Urban Zone. This was at the Presidential Suite.

At the lobby, wearing an old dress and new shoes from a few seasons ago. (Note to self, remind Manny not to zoom the camera in. There's too much lost when zooming in - with a compact. Anyway, I'm getting my new Ricoh GRD and it's got a prime lens that doesn't zoom. So yay.)

At the lobby bar, wearing K&Company and a bunch of my jewelry/accessories.

Enjoy Friday, everyone! I leave you with this...

Imagine a city with a park as beautiful as this. Lots of green open spaces where your kids can run around freely.

Why can't we have a real urban park? I know there's Luneta Park... but... you know what I mean.
