Job opportunities in ABC 5

Shot during my field trip to ABC5 in Novaliches last year

I saw an ad in the newspaper that ABC 5 (or TV5) is also hiring a lot of people. As in a lot. So kids in broadcasting or mass communication... apply na!

I don't have the link. But if you want to be in broadcasting, resourcefulness is definitely an asset a must. So best to do your research now... Good luck!

Who wants to study in the UK?

From my previous life. LOL

I'm not British nor did I study in the UK. You guys all know where I studied.

I got to know the British Council in the "work" I did with them a couple of years ago. The British Council appointed me one of the four nexuses of the Philippines to participate in the Creative Cities Program. I've been meaning to write about that and will do... today, promise. More on that later.

Anyway, if you are interested in pursuing an education in the UK, there is a free counseling session organized by the British Council - this will give first hand and practical information about living and studying in the UK.

Alumni from the top universities in the UK will gather together on 29 January from 6:00 - 8:00PM at the Makati Function Rooms of the Shangri-la Makati Hotel for an evening of free counseling sessions for Filipinos with an interest in a UK education.

Graduates from prestigious universities like Oxford, Cambridge, London School of Economics and the University College London are just a few of the universities represented at the event. Visitors to the Alumni Counseling session will get the chance to ask their fellow Filipinos a full range of topics from the university application process to where to find the best Filipino restaurant in London.

Richard Amurao London School of Economics alum relates how he appreciated the 1 pound bus rides that enabled him to explore London while Ronald Rodriguez from the School of Oriental and African Studies shares how his UK diploma opened so many doors for him while job-hunting in Manila.

These are just a few stories from people who have experienced living and studying in the UK. Learn more about the UK through their experiences when you visit the Alumni Counseling session on 29 January.

Also present at the event will be the British Embassy to discuss student visa requirements; the British Council IELTS staff who will help with providing information on how to take the test which is a requirement for students intending to study in the UK and of course British Council personnel will be on hand to address further queries about the UK.

Admission to the event is FREE.

For more information and to pre-register for the event, please log on to www.britishcouncil.org.ph or call Alec Ladanga at 914 1011-14.
