Ryan Cayabyab conducting the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra. I enjoyed this one!!! And clearly, Maestro Cayabyab LOVES what he does. Bravo!
Last week my mom and I attended the Cultural Center of the Philippines' tribute to Mrs Marcos. We were with Mrs T and our friend Cat from the US. My mom had just arrived from Toronto that morning. I insisted she attended the show with me even though she was jetlagged. She could not resist. Cecil Licad, Coke Bolipata, Ryan Cayabyab, Raul Sunico and Lisa Macuja performing in one stage.
Politics aside... we can't deny the fact that Imelda contributed greatly to the arts. We produced world-class talents back then. And it was so touching to see most of them come home and pay tribute to IRM. The show was called Seven Arts, One Imelda. There are reviews in Inquirer and Star (will find links later). Here's what
PEP had to say.
Some snapshots from Mrs T:
Me, Imee and Cat
Me and Eliza Romualdez Valtos. She's wearing a terno that belonged to her Auntie Meldy. It was made by Christian Espiritu. The gown was lovely. Incidentally, my dress is from K&Company's current collection.
And one last look at the curtain call:
