Clover Point BaCC - Fall 3 with the Rices
Oh my! It's been soooo long! I literally had no time at all to play the sims this winter. Can you believe it took me two whole months to play a short 5-day season for ONE family?! Insane!
But here it is, finally. A new chapter where we go back to the Rices. I'll try my best to make this interesting, but I must admit that I just kinda want to get it done and published... I'll try not to make this post too mechanical... Thank you for taking the time to read!
So, even I have a hard time remembering what they were up to last time, so a little recap:
Walter is on his way to become a Business Tycoon, while his wife, the lovely Carla, and his sons, Oliver and Hugo, take care of their expanding garden. The family owns Fancy Pants, the only clothing store in town, and Rice For All, the grocery shop where they sell their homegrown produce. The boys are now both teens and Oliver is interested in his good friend Deirdre. As for Hugo, he's attracted by men and has yet to meet the love of his life, although he's doing really good in his career field, athletics.

As we all know, Fall is the season to harvest, so that's what Carla did. Now, the family has apples and lemons to sell at Rice for All.
Carla and Oliver wasted no time going to the store and filled the shelves with their fresh fruits, vegetables and fish.
Carla greeted a newcomer to town, my very own simself! You'll get to meet "me" (and my boyfriend) properly at the end of the rotation. Hee! :)
The turn out at the store was great. People seemed to love all the fresh produce. Oliver took care of the sales part and got his gold badge, while Carla helped with the cash register. Together, they brought Rice for All to rank 7.
Back home, Hugo was getting ready for work as the school mascot.
And when Carla got home, she immediately started to fish. After all, winter is coming (ha! I'm such a GOT geek!) and the pond will freeze soon, so she wanted to make sure they had enough fish stocked for the cold months.
Walter came back home looking very pleased with himself. He can be, he's now Vice-President. Almost there Walt!
Walter took some time to play chess with his eldest and at the same time talk to him about his future.
"So, Oli, your birthday is coming up soon."
"I know, Dad."
"Have you thought about what you'd like to do once you're an adult?"
"Well, I have..."
"Go on, son, you can tell me. I promise I will support you no matter what."
"Well, I was thinking that maybe I could stay here and continue to help you and Mom with the garden and the stores... I know that Hugo is not really interested in all that, he'll want to move out on his own, I think. And I love all of it. I'd want to grow the best fruits and vegetables and make the business sucessful. I swear I'd make you proud and I would not destroy all your work."
"Ha ha! I never thought you would! Listen, Oli, your mother and I have always hoped you would take over for us one day, so I'm more than happy to learn that's what you want, too."
And so, Oliver was officially declared heir. When he saw that the shower was broken, he rushed to fix it. He wanted to take good care of the house, since it was going to be his, someday.
More fishing for Carla, with her friend Jay. She earned her silver fishing badge, so she's catching more fish. That's good.
As for Oliver, he invited over his crush, Deirdre, and they had a pillow fight. He seems like he's having fun, but we all know he's only putting on a brave face because he asked Deirdre to go steady and she said no... That's right. Even if they shared a wonderful first kiss. Boo.
See, she's not refusing his kisses! Hum... What's going on here?
Another sucessful day of work for Walt, who's now President.
He needs to work on his logic if he wants to get promoted, so he spent a few hours at the telescope.
The next day, Carla opened Fancy Pants. With the help of the two employees, it was very easy to run and made nice money.
Okay, so I have the hack that makes it possible for teens to get pregnant (don't remember the name) and another effect is that when teens reach 18 (according to sim time), they don't have to go to school anymore. And so, Hugo is now done with homework and the yellow bus and since he already has a job in athletics, he went to work... and came back a superstar! As you can see, he's very proud.
I find this troublesome, but I guess it's not completely impossible when you look at what age professional sport players begin their careers... Maybe he's like Sydney Crosby...
Anyway, with his hard-earned money, Hugo decided to open a club, Poker Face. There, the fine people of Clover Point can play poker (of course), but also darts, pool, mah jong and Don't wake the llama.
After working on his logic, it was time for Walter to work on his creativity. And boy, does he need it!!!
Deirdre came over and once again, she gladly accepted Oliver's smooch...
But refused to become his official girlfriend. Our boy is feeling rejected and low... Poor Oli.
Carla caught some more fish...
And Oliver tried to repair his somewhat rocky relationship with Deirdre.
As for Walt, he was now working on his charisma.
As they went inside to get a snack, Oliver found the courage to ask Deirdre why she always told him no when he asked her to go steady.
Deirdre was very honest and admitted that although she liked him a lot, she was not attracted to him. They agreed to stay friends. Oliver was sad, but at least he was now free to find someone else who would appreciate him.
Hugo came back from work with another promotion. He's now assistant coach. That's right a teenager is assistant coach. It's getting weird...
Oliver took care of the garden to get his mind off his heartache.
That evening, he met Cheryl Adams. She was really nice and they got along well, but Oliver was not attracted to her so he didn't want to pursue this relationship. Now, he understood how Deirdre must have felt and knew she really had not wanted to hurt him.
Oliver was ready to start looking for his one true love. So, when his friend Emma Blythe asked if he wanted to go to My Muse with her, he agreed, thinking he could very well meet someone there.
He was right, as he immediately found Mona Monif (yup, the business reviewer!) very hot.
Mona seemed receptive to Oliver's advances. They had fun, they talked and they got close...
But Oliver didn't want to get his hopes up to soon... He made sure to ask her what she thought of him...
"Can't you tell? I think you're extremely handsome! You're still a bit young for me, but I'd love us to get to know eachother better, once you're an adult."
Phew!
Energized from his night out, Oli opened Rice for All and made good sales. He also worked at the cash register. He really needs to get better at it.
Walter worked some more on his charisma.
And Hugo flaunted his body.
"Okay, Hugo, we know you've got muscles," Carla chuckled.
On the night before his birthday, Oliver got his silver fishing badge... and spots!
The next morning, he harvested more lemons and talked to the trees for a while, so they would give juicier fruits.
Hugo came back home with yet another promotion. He is now Coach. Now, this is ridiculous... What sport team would accept to be coached by a kid?!? Ah, gotta love the sims...!
As evening came, everyone garthered around Oliver to watch him blow the candles on his cake. The Blythes had joined them to celebrate.
And here he is, all grown-up, the spitting image of his father.
The party was a sucess, too. Every one was dancing and having fun.
That's when Mona arrived. Oliver was so happy to see her and finally be able to let her know exactly how he felt.
"Mona, I soon as I met you, I knew. I feel like I've known you forever. Would you do me the honor of sharing your life with me?"
"Yes! Yes! Of course, yes! I feel the same! I love you, Oli!"
That's when the police came to shut down the party. It seemed everyone was having too much fun. I really wonder who would have called to complain, since all the neighbours are here, but anyhow...

Just so you know, Mona Monif (soon to be Rice) is a Knowledge/Family Pisces (0/7/10/3/4), with the LTW to become City Planner. She moved in with $16K, woot!
