OK, my post for today. YOKO ONO.
I'm sick of this "She broke up the Beatles" crap. Good. The Beatles are over. I'm happy. John Lennon's dead. I'm happy.
It was meant to be. Shut up and "let it be." Let me ask you something, what was the last good record the Stones made?
As you probably know, I'm a massive Beatles fan. But they had their time. I would break my heart to see them end up like the Stones or Aerosmith or Roger Waters or David Gilmour. I mean, I respect them, but they really have faded away gradually.
The last album the Beatles recorded was Abbey Road. Is that not a great way to say farewell to a band? I just think that the Beatles would not have been nearly as iconic if they had a new single coming out in a few weeks.
Back to Yoko. There's a great interview where some cunt from the New Yorker (I believe it is, from memory) is completely ripping apart John's ideals and he's trying to defend himself and eventually he says "Well, I'm sorry if you were expecting mop-tops and all that. I've grown up, but apparently you haven't." Exactly. He met Yoko and moved on.
Two Virgins. John and Yoko's album. I really dig it. For people calling Yoko a dying cat, I'm sorry to break it to you, but there's more to the world than My Generation and Hey Jude.
If Yoko Ono hadn't "broken up the Beatles" John probably would not have written much of his most famous stuff. Appreciate what is and be thankful that the Beatles, or Lennon for that matter, are not another "better to fade away than burn out" band.

Major post (for me, anyway) coming tomorrow. Stay tuned. Personal revelation.
