I voted for Kerry.
I'm very upset that we're going to have another four years of Bush in the White House, not only because he has no reason to even try to pretend to be moderate now that he's got himself another term, but also because of what it represents for our country as a whole. I hate that he pushes his religious agenda -- he's entitled to it, but the rest of us don't necessarily agree, and I don't want to have to hear it. Every time he mentions God I cringe, because it's yet another reminder that he's NOT representing all of us the way a person in his position should -- he's only representing the interests of the people who think like him. People who are going to make abortion illegal. People who continue to deny citizens their legal rights.
Also for the record? I may be a woman married to a man, but I consider myself to be every bit as queer as people who are gay, and I consider a blow to their rights to be a blow to mine and everyone else's. Just because you currently enjoy certain freedoms doesn't mean they might not be limited or taken away at some point. A government that doesn't protect and uphold the rights of ALL citizens isn't doing any of us any favors.
