a brief Story in time...

So there once was this kid who got asked to catch a Drum Corps show in Beverly. His friend stopped by his house, on his way and invited him to tag along. He never been to Beverly, let alone seen a Drum Corps show. On second thought, her really didn't know anything about Drum Corps itself. He heard a show once on a mix cd some aquaintance gave to borrow. There was also this one time when the man from Spartans came to show the band a video and talk about it. "It takes up the whole summer?!" and "I won't be able to spend time with my girlfriend" were things said aloud while sitting in the auditorium. Its too bad he didn't march that year, it happened to be after the successful 97 season. If that kid joined the corps, he would've had 7 summers marching in the sun by his age-out time. He'd have that...along with a ring, some medals, and a couple real difficult years. Those difficult years are really what makes a person. Especially when they can return after one of those years, looking ahead positively, rather than disregarding it and taking an easier way out. But it also would've been hard after the really great years...knowing things might not be the same but still trying as hard as they can to have the best experience. "People see what they want to see" is the best quote from a movie without its specific intent. Everything in life truly is what we make of it. So what happened to that kid who missed out on those precious years that you can't get back? No, didn't end up marrying the girlfriend, that of which is a brilliant story all together. He did get to march some of those years, and that last one was real special. It had everything he needed to continue life after learning from all the years of which, the most difficult to be a part of, and the most excellent. He was now a better person, better musician, and a better friend.

I often wonder if other people will be able to go through the same experience he had, or if they even know how lucky they are to be doing what they're doing. Who knows, they might figure things out, or just be able to put themselves in a better situation after reading this. Either way, he had a good run with those who were with him along the way.
