I especially love how you note that even when the scene wasn't cesare/lucrezia specific Francois still always played that absolutely adoration and worry for his sister whenever she was mentioned or he was in the background as she talked.
Note episode 2x06 when she is told she has to remarry and she says "so i am to lie on my back and wait to be ravaged by a beast..." in which we see Cesare close his eyes in physical agony over even having to hear it.
Cesare keeping his promise to Lucrezia and killing Sforza for her will always be my favorite thing he did for her! (Because setting up the meet between her and Paola clearly caused him pain and that hurts me because it hurts him.)
Those two actors were so in sync with eachother and the way that this love was so unconditional and just was is so incredible. I love the way that in almost every scene they have together, they are touching! Either they've taken eachother's hands Cesare's hand rests on her back or side holding her. I know some of it may be in the script but EVERY SINGLE TIME! I think it's just they're understanding of how engrossed and loyal they were to eachother. I love it so much.
And I agree while I would have like exploited incest scenes....the way they played it was perfection. The writing and actual scenes are far better than anything I've ever seen translated onto screen. I mean you had a sister, naked, having her brother caress her. Then where a sister seduces her brother but ends up realizing that this is the most perfect event of her life. And then having to watch your sister sleep with her husband because she hasn't since she was with you...and having LITERAL EYE!SEX during it. Seriously I don't know how this guy thought up this stuff but it's absolutely the most brilliant thing I've seen to happen in a ship let alone an incestuous ship.
Like you I could keep going on and on.
I'll just say how, while I would have loved all the SEX we obviously could have been given in S4. I just love the way it ended with Cesare finally giving into it because they were both so blood stained at this point that it no longer seemed wrong for him to "taint" his sister by allowing it and also that she told him his touch was the only one that soothes her, so he gave it to her.
LOVE IT!
