hopefully by now you've all read that
johns hopkins bloomberg school of health is reporting an estimated
655,000 civilian deaths to date, as a result of the american invasion of iraq. if you haven't, click the link above. i found
an article pertaining to this tucked away in the international section of today's NYtimes online. now, obviously all statistics are to be called into question (and, like clockwork, bush has already dismissed the figures), but this seems to be something worthy of a real public debate... and so far, it appears to have generated little more than footnote status.
(in other news, i apologize for the skimpy posts lately. i'm trying to finish a painting for an art deadline, and will return to my nerdy ways soon enough...)
