I haven't posted in a while. No particular reason. I'm not sure if I've been all that busy.
Work
My schedule is weird this week because of the holiday. Beginning with Friday it has been on, off, on, off, on, off, on. Friday I work, Saturday is my normal day off, Sunday normal day on, Monday had holiday off, Tuesday is normal day on, Wednesday is normal day off, Thursday I'm back on. It's a big yo-yo schedule.
Food
Went to Shinsengumi Hakata Ramen in Rosemead with 344 and some friends on Saturday (after our bbq). My roommates weren't all that impressed, but I liked it a lot. One less foodie place on my list to go to now. It turns out it's in the same plaza as 888, one of the dim sum places I frequent, but just on the other side.
I think I haven't been to the Torrance Curry House. Upon further inspection, I always discounted this location because whenever I'm in Torrance (read: Airsoft Extreme), I go to the Curry House down the street, which is technically in Gardena. So this leaves Torrance, Puente Hills, and Little Tokyo takeout location (dunno if this even really counts) as the only Curry Houses I have left to reach my personal mission of eating at them all. Plus there's a San Diego location opening soon.
Retrospect
I shoulda spent this past weekend drunk. I didn't realize this was a possibility until just now. Oh well.
WoW
This past week, it seems I've been playing my n00b rogue on the Argent Dawn server more than my main on Stormscale. I did absolutely no pvp this week which busted my ass down to 66% in Rank 6 from my 33% into Rank 7. So sad. And now colleges and high schools nationwide have resumed, which lowers the target-rich environment of 24/7 AV.
Pros and Cons
Work with PMX is going steadily. We just announced UchuSentai NOIZ, MECHANiCAL PANDA, Dig Jelly and Random Ninjas. We're also working with a few other labels for more performers. My only gripe is that I wish all this could have been done last month so I could focus more on marketing. But I've never done music for a con before, so maybe this is the way the timelines usually go. This year's music offerings at PMX are shaping up pretty well. It should be a pretty kickass con.
I submitted an app to AX on whenever date... I forget. I got an e-mail today about an interview with the SPJA BoD for tomorrow evening. This means it's not too late to get in for those of you thinking about it. Hurry up and send your e-mail of intent. I'm going to take this interview in stride and be honest. I'm rather close to pitching it all to hell anyway after the SAD event. If I get in, I get in. If not, I'll go do something else.
Storage
Before going to a bbq on Saturday, I went to my rental storage to drop off some stuff and pick up my camping chairs. I get there and go to the second floor to fix the freight elevator so I could move my stuff up. On the second floor, right after the elevator, the hallway goes straight with one branch going right. Down the hallway, I see some older Chinese woman with some luggage and whatnot in the hallway. I flash her a smile and pay her no attention as I fix the elevator. I can hear her start shouting, and I think it's at me, and the tone was not all that good. I think she was cussing at me in Mandarin. I go downstairs to load up my stuff in the elevator and go back up. The lady is still yelling, and I move my stuff a few spaces down the right branch to where my rental spot was so I'm well within earshot, but out of visual range. Lady stops shouting. Up comes a couple going to their storage. Lady starts shouting again. Couple tries to get past the lady and she's all "No! No! You go away! Go that way! Go around!" The couple protest, saying that their storage is just down the hall. But they leave and come back with the manager. Manager tries to mediate the situation. "They try to take my money! They going to take my money again! I see it! My husband see it!" (Note, I didn't see a man with her when I walked past.) Manager said she was there to make sure the couple just goes past without taking the lady's stuff. "I don't trust them! I don't trust you! You can't kick me out! I pay my rent! You can't kick me out!" Manager and couple give up and go away. I grab my chairs and go down the stairs, as I'm going down I hear the lady yell at me "FUCK YOU, BITCH!" so I reply in Cantonese, "No need to get so loud, grandma." Crazy!
