whisky & oyster tasting

Here's something fun. The Scotch Malt Whisky Society and an oyster purveyor with no base teamed up over the weekend to do a pop up pairing shop. Four days only, in the heart of Covent Garden. They did an amazing job with the shop, looked fantastic. One of the guys from the SMWS recognized me and we had a nice chat. There were two flights of three, or you could just get the full deal with six.

Obviously I got all six. That is six different raw oysters (both native and rock) and six different whiskies (each single cask), specifically paired to compliment one another. And they really did make it work.

I now know my food knowledge is lacking in the oyster department. I picked up a pamphlet, and there must be 20 varieties listed. I really liked the duchy native. I wish I'd photographed the menu and pairings though.
