*SNIFF*
I would be lying if I said I was feeling JUST a little sad.... I'm pretty sad (nothing compared to the SG-1 finale - that was heartbreaking) because well...this was ER!
This show has been on since I was FIVE - it's been showing for as long as I could remember. I've watched it longer than I've watched SG-1 - I loved it even before I became a LOtR fan. And now it's just...done. It's a little unbelievable. I don't know when it will set it that it's over. I was just sitting watching going "This can't be it! It doesn't FEEL like this is it!"...
But alas, it was it...let me just mention my favorite parts:
RACHEL!!!! OMG, I recognized her the moment she first showed on screen. I was all excited and so happy because it means Mark DID save her - he was able to do the last thing on his list! It was very bittersweet. Another awesome 'kid' appearence was from Reese. I wasn't expecting that - it was very cool!
And CARTER - holy yes, he's BACK at County. I love that they ended it like that - with him pretty much going back to work in the ER. That's where he belongs, and it gave a sense of completion to it all. And i loved how they paralleled it to the very first episode and had Carter remembering it all. It came full circle!
The parts that had me crying were his speech at the Center, the very very end of course (which was how I had pictured and hoped it would go - another big catastrophe that the docs had to handle. And there being a Dr. Greene again - very bittersweet), and the old couple. I knew there had to be a death or two, and that one was pretty intense. I cried and cried every time their part of the storyline came up!
The best hospital show has gone out with a bang - now I'll have to start getting the seasons on DVD. Probably starting with this, one - for the finale, if nothing else!
