Free Stuff: Turn Your LJ Into a Book

Mar 20, 2009 15:57

Okay, this is pretty cool.

During one of my, "Let's look around and see what I can find" procrastination sprees, I found LJ Book, a free service that turns your LiveJournal into an ebook. Seriously. In fact, here's a quick pic of one of the pages from my LJ Book. (Click to see it enlarged.)

As you can see, all of your posts are organized by year and month, making them easy to find.

All you do is enter your LJ ID and password (which it's suggested you change right after) and, in a few minutes, you'll have an ebook in PDF format.

I did a quick "Let's see how this works" dealie, and had my book in less than five minutes. Considering I'm not the most prolific LJer around (which I'm trying to change :D ) I was surprised my book came out to be 179 pages long. But it includes comments and images and everything. There are a lot of settings you can fiddle with to determine exactly what will end up in your book, and how it will look. (None of which I fiddled with.)

I don't know how useful this is, but it was fun. :D

Here's the addy one more time: LJ Book
