This is just SILLINESS

We really, really, really need to get it together and hire someone at the bloody studio. Clearly, I would much rather hire a new receptionist that a new female teacher, but at this point I will accept either decision. I taught five lessons today, and it made my productivity practically nil, so I ended up staying at work til after 11 PM, and yet there is still a 13-item to-do list on my desk for tomorrow. GROWL. And next week looks like it will be no better, which means the studio suffers, the students suffer, and I suffer. BOO MINUS. I just don't like feeling behind in both halves of my job, and I don't see that getting better until we bring in someone new. And I don't see any advantage to hiring someone inexperienced to teach, as they won't be able to teach advanced men any better than I will. I'll be able to take that on long before a newcomer would. The only logical teacher hire would be someone with years in the business, but I don't know why that person would appear now if she hasn't done so already. A new receptionist makes so much more sense for so many reasons, but no one seems to be doing anything about it. I'm trying to be patient, but I'm watching things start to slip around me to the point of mild panic. In my estimation, neither the studio nor I will be able to keep this up for another month. Something's gotta give!

On the upside, I love teaching. The lessons themselves are going really well, and I think I could see myself being happy doing this for a while, which is really cool. I love my new Bronze couple, and the couple I'm teaching this cha cha routine to, and this sweet man named Bill who works so hard at being a good dancer and is just the sweetest guy you ever wanted to meet. The students make all the stress worth it, and my lessons today were really rewarding and exciting. I just want to be able to actually prepare properly for lessons and not just slip them in between administrative tasks. But I'll figure out a way to make it work.

Continuing on this more positive note, excitement of this weekend and things to come include:
1. Haircut! Summer = chop hair nice and short, put off growing it out til wintertime
2. Giving a free lesson to Mom and Dad for Father's Day and realizing that I actually know what I'm talking about dance-wise.
3. Baby-sitting Lexie Saturday night, which is always a blast.
4. A nice Sunday with the fam, which included a Goodwill shopping spree, cooking with Mom, a family trip to the gym, my first meal with them in ages, and lots and lots of packing.
5. I move on Saturday! AH! Excitement!
6. I get an hour-long full body massage on Thursday. This will be extraordinarily awesome.
7. Friday morning, Mom and I are going to look at smooth dresses in Chicago. She has offered to help pay for this second dress, which is so generous of her that I can hardly stand it. Except I will stand it, as financial assistance around this move is gift from the heavens.
