1. Inauguration Day. President Obama's speech was pitch perfect. At first, I missed the "Yes We Can" that I'm so used to in his speeches. But then I realized that we are past "Yes We Can." The country proved that it believes that we can on November 4, 2008. So this inauguration speech was more than a rally cry to make the American people come together and believe in something greater; we're past that now. His speech today was a promise to our country and to world not just that we can, but that we will. We will be a real leader in the world again, we will fix the massive problems that face our country, we will be a friend to those we seek peace and prosperity and an enemy to those who stand in the way of those thing, we will recognize that our country is built on the diversity of its people, and that we will have a President who speaks and acts on behalf of all Americans and not just a favored majority. We grew up today. "Today we put away childish things," as President Obama said. We have grown past "Yes We Can" and matured into a mantra of "Yes We Will," and President Obama is forging the way. It was a beautiful speech and a beautiful day for the United States.
(On a side note, here's my favorite Obama-related status I saw on facebook today: "To those who said it would be a cold day in hell before a black man became President: buy Satan a parka. He wears a medium.")
2. This videotaping of my monologues was genius. Technology, you are my friend.
3. My dad bought me red, knee-high boots. They are beautiful. I drool over them. They must make their debut very, very soon.
