better mommy babble is the best

Thank you to everyone who replied to the last entry. I was just a bit frazzled but it seems to be a bit better now. It was just a little bit of a shock the stroke and unexpected (My mother is only 58 and stroke never entered our mind). We know there is a history of heart disease in the family. So we try to limit the risk factors we can with that but doing that with stroke may be hard. she already has high blood pressure and we can't stop being black so no fixing those much.

Anyway she is home now and doing very well. Very little after affects from the stroke (just a mild one). At the hospital she had some slurring of words but now barely notice any slur at all (not that you can notice it over our southern Illinois accent XD). The doctors think she had the stroke on Sunday and we didn't get any real noticeable symptoms until Monday. She did have a headache on Sunday and was a little bit lethargic, but besides that there weren't any signs until Monday when my sister noticed the right side of her face was "melting" and slurring of words. Sadly by the time we did get her to the hospital it would've been too late for them to give her drugs if it had been serious. The doctors also said it was her first stroke when they gave her the MRI, and we were glad and wondered how weird it would've been if it hadn't been her first.

Nothing else to say, just I'm so happy that she is okay and out of the hospital.
