Movie Night

Last night dad and I went to the theater and saw three movies. First we saw Spiderman 2 (which on it's first day in the theaters...which was yesterday...grossed $40.5 million...wow), Fahrenheit 9/11 (which was completely boring and full of bull), and The Notebook.

Spiderman was good...I didn't think it was quite as good as the first one. The transitions between some of the sceens could have been better and a little less choppy...but other then that the story line was good. You can really feel for Spiderman. He has to endure a lot in this film.

Fahrenheit 9/11 was horrible. Dad and I went t o see what all the hype was about...although neither of us knew we would agree with it's points. Well, the movie"documentary" was boring and packed full of complete lies. And while watching it I realize that he is just profiting on people's pain. In Bowling for Columbine be made money off of the deaths of many students in the Columbine school shootings and in Fahrenhiet 9/11 he shows a woman who's son died in the war (the one that is going on right now) and you can see her crying and expressing her pain and Moore seems to revel in it. But the real odd thing to me is that he interviewed the woman before her son died...and she said that she was a republican in interviews before her son dies and later said in interviews that she decided to become a demicrate after his death. Did Michael Moore know the boy was going to die when he talked to her? I mean about 800 soldiers have died over their out of thousands and thousands that were sent so far...and that would have to be pretty amazing odds on Moore's part. Or was her story really a complete act that Michael Moore made up for his film? And in his movie he also made it seem like people from small town areas were stupid and had no choice but to join the army in order to make money...and that all those "dumb" poor people were going to die. So...in other words, I have to say don't see this movie...it is COMPLETELY FILLED WITH LIES and totally BORING!! It is not worth anyone's time.

Then we finished the trip to the movies with The Notebook. Which I have been wanting to see forever! And it was good. Even dad said (after we watched Fahrenhiet 9/11 though) that it was a good film. I laughed during it and cried during it(of course). It was just really, really good.

So, if you want to go to the movies this weekend and see something...I would recommend Spiderman 2 and/or The Notebook. They were both pretty darn great. Enjoy the movies!
