Happy like...a walrus!

Oh dear, I should've done an update before, but typing has become less and less appealing!

First of all, the trip to La Rioja and San Juan was awesome! I still don't have any photos to show you, but will devote an entire entry to them asap. Even if the landscape was desert-like, it was worth going (in fact, one of the parks we visited is called Ischigualasto, which- in some original language whose name I can't recall- means literally  "Lifeless land"/"Dead land")...I tell you, being sorrounded by those gigantic reddish mountains, I couldn't help but feeling oh so insignificant, and during the whole trip I could stop thinking about how irrelevant my problems really are...Anyways, despite the long journey (12hs by car to get there!), I really enjoyed the escapade:)

Now, moving on to the job hunt subject...believe it or not, got a second call from Banco Itaú, even if they'd told me they wanted someone for the morning shift (I assume they were able to rearrange the situation?). Had a second interview the day after I returned home from the trip, this time with the coordinator of the art area and some other guy who didn't tell me his position but was clearly in a higher one than the coordinator...In fact, he was the one doing most of the questions! After a really long interview (part of which was in English...surprise!) and a deliberation taken place outside the interview room (where I wasn't involved, of course), they told me that they liked my profile and would be calling me after they arranged some "administrative issues". It's been a week and a half since then, and my anxiety is killing me! Meanwhile, I attended a literature class for the elderly to see how the working dynamic was, sent a draft of the plan for my first class (that would be next Wednesday!) and got it aprooved...I'm so excited about this project! The subject of my first class will be Impresionist artists in Argentina, for I have tons of images to work with...shall be interesting, and hopefully, something my "students" will be keen on...Oh, and did I mention I'll be working on The Museum Night as well? Yup, this year the Cloisters Museum will be participating again, so I'll be giving guided tours from 10PM to 2AM...yikes!:D

Apart from that, my life's been very uneventful...this week was devoted to catching up with all my subjects, as this whole "yay trip/new jobs!" thing resulted in me being really absent minded/procrastinating college-speaking. Finished reading Richard III for Art and Literature (and watching the film by Richard Loncraine...Ian McKellen does a great job playing Richard III!), so now I've got to move on to my Anthropology readings, which (unfortunately) have become extremely boring¬¬

Have a nice  (upcoming) weekend everyone!

trip, college, job hunt, roaming
