Nothing but good news:

1) I'm going on a trip again! This time's a family escapade, but who cares...In 2 weeks time I'll be visiting Valle de la Luna and the Talampaya Canyon, 2 very well known Argentine National Parks...hoorray! Never been there before, so this shall be fun! Will be reading a lot too, as we have a 12-hour ride in order to get there...woops^^'

2) On Wednesday I applied for a job, and I already got a (positive) answer! Of course, I still have to go through the interview (and convince them to hire me!), but it's a neat start. The offer's very interesting...I'd be working as a teacher, preparing 4 different art history courses, all of them aiming to the elderly...In fact, the enterprise I'd be working for aims to the elderly, and makes these courses as a way to make their transition to their retirement less...traumatic? Idk, at least here people who are retired are treated like scum, so the idea sounds really cool and innovative...I'd be coordinated by a psychologist, and the main task of my courses would be to stimulate their creativity, imagination and memory through art movements...sounds awesome! The interview's on Monday 6th, so everyone's got to keep their fingers crossed for me!

3) I got tickets for the opening night of Expotrastiendas (though I'm not very proud of the way I got them)! First of all, Expotrastiendas is an annual art gallery fair, similar to ArteBA, only that the galleries that participate in this one are less traditional/newer/smaller/emerging, and so are the artists represented. I've never been to both of these before because:
a) I always seem to be busy on that date.
b) I hate the snobbish type of audience that attends these fairs, who couldn't care less about art and is only looking for a good invesment.
Unfortunately, the latter one, though it's my main reason not to attend, should be main one to go as well, as those people would probably be great working contacts in the future...My boyfriend says I should be less naïve when it comes to the art market and be more conscious that it is indeed a business in which I should get involved, but it's hard for me to think of art in that way, I'm (yet) too idealistic...Anyway, the thing is that today, when I entered the museum for my afternoon shift, I ran into Fran, who had been working during the morning shift, and while he was there had to receive a misterious envelope, destinated to "Mr. Cloisters of the Pillar", which he wanted to show me...Of course, as soon as I saw the Expotrastiendas logo on it, I didn't think it twice and opened it (in my defense, the envelope wasn't even sealed), to find just what I expected...one coupon for the opening night, and another for a free entrance for any day of the fair...Considering our boss couldn't care less about art and didn't even know she was going to get these coupons in the fisrt place (it's a usual practice to send free invitations to related institutions to these events, but I still wonder why did they think of us, when even if we are a museum, we're far from dealing with contemporary art...), we both decided to split the treasure...so now I'll be able to go to the exclusive opening night for free!:D
