Play + rain

It's raining cats and dogs, and I've just come from seeing another play from the Theater Festival with Sebastian (it wasn't our intention to see each other today/yesterday, but a friend of my Mom's who's conected  with the event organisers offered us the tickets, and I never say no to free stuff!). Fortunately, my Mom and his boyfriend (Vincenzo) were a block away from the place we were ('cause they had been to the theater too, lol), so I returned in Vincenzo's car. Yay! Of course, as the silly girl I am, my outfit was completely inapropriate in terms of weather conditions (too spring-like, but in my defense, I didn't know it would rain), so before we went to the theater Sebastian lend me a jacket, a pair of trainers and a pair of thick stockings^^' (yup, forgot to mention, I was a Sebastian's, "studying" and watching Argentina vs Peru, the crappiest football match ever, even if we won!).
The play was called Crónicas sentimentales de España (literally, "Sentimental chronicles of Spain") and ws a mix of both acting and music. There were 5 people sitting in chairs and a guy by the piano who took turns to tell the story of popular music in Spain from the end of the Civil war to the end of Franquism. I suspect I would have enjoyed it a bit more if I knew more about the subject (like some people in the audience, who were clearly Spanish), but I did know some of the singers they mention/songs they performed (they did a VERY popular song for kids in a sort of choral-operistic way...awesome!), and even if I take that into account, it wasn't necessary to know the songs to enjoy the play, because each of them were performed in a funny way with weird instruments that made them hilarious. The actors were fabulous- many of the gags were just corporal...it's unbelievable how they could make you laugh with a simple gesture!
After the play, we dinned at Farándula, a place a the corner with reasonable prices, generous portions and bizarre decoration...I felt like I was in the 80's:P An in all, a great Saturday, specially if you think that I was planning on staying home!

weather, theater, night out, sebastian
