Feeding the mosquitoes

Jul 28, 2005 00:44

Haven't posted in a while. These are the newsworthy highlights:

- Store keeping me busy. I'm on first name basis with the post office guy where I do my shipping. He gave me his HOME phone number in case I need to arrange something when he's not around or on weekends. New items in the pipeline: fantasy colored contact lenses, and iron-on materials for custom appliques.

- AN and TT came and went. My booth and panels were well received. I still can't get over how respectful, polite, attentive and generaly well behaved the general con population is. Glad to be part of it.

- Had to go and fuel the canadian economy: upgraded my computer (P4 with all the bells and whistles), my monitor (getting a 20" LCD!!!!!) and my set-top DVD player (got one that plays Avis/DivX). If you know me, you know I DIDN'T pay retail on either piece. (And I'm not talking refurb).

- There wasn't any budget leftover for the computerized embroidery machine I wanted to get. Next time...

- My personal summer season starts in 5 hours. Right this moment my dad is flying in to visit us. Lands at 6am. (I should try to get some sleep before going to the airport...hmm...maybe later). We'll be doing some sightseeing and next week we'll head to the Peterborough area to spend a few days feeding the mosquitoes. My usual online responsiveness will be seriously affected for the next couple of weeks. I don't think I'll take my laptop. Just my phone to read and answer email. (I love gadgets, can you tell?)

- Had a very positive three-way phone call today with a couple of friends. Went through a few pending subjects and everything is clear now. Everyone feels better. And I got a couple of hug-rainchecks to boot!

- I'll see everyone on the saturday of CNA. I'll be there but no booth, and probably no cosplaying. Last time nobody recognized me!! :)

I think that's all for now.... off to enjoy summer!!!!!
