Playing with Fosshape

Yesterday I tried a few things with Fosshape.

(I recommend you open the photo album in a separate browser, to keep reading here while looking at the pics)

1 - this is a piece of fosshape and the stainless steel bowl I used as mold
2 and 3 - I covered the mold and pinned the material in place
4 - In my grill/toaster-oven for a few minutes
5 - Looks like it was too much time, because the bottom melted
6 - Cleaning the edges
7 - It stuck to the steel, so I had to cut it in 3 pieces to peel it
8 and 9 - second half
10 - second half in the oven
11 - all pieces peeled from the mold
12 - glued in halves
13 - The finished fosshape ball
14 - It weights 23grams = 0.9oz
15 - Strong enough to withstand the weight of a full pop can

The lesson is that once it is held in shape, heat will make it keep its position. A regular oven could be used for bigger items (mascot heads) and a hand-held steamer for even bigger ones (like full size statues, for example). I haven't tried with the microwave yet.
Still to be learned: how to keep it from sticking to the mold.
