gorillaz - dirty harry & feel good inc...they're the only two songs i really listen to on that album, but i've been obsessed with them lately. over and over and over and over and over.
john prine - the great compromise...'bout time i got into this surly songwriter.
the privates - the mighty ducks are back...please check out the rock nashville has to offer.
lou barlow - if i could...the record is called emoh. go buy it."

so, here are my top 5 songs at the moment:
1. "Hoppipola" - Sigur Ros, from the album "Takk..." This song will be incorporated in me and JD's wedding, somehow. This might be one of the most gorgeous, uplifting songs I've heard in awhile.
2. "Crack the Whip" - The Spinto Band, from "Nice and Nicely Done" This song is incredibly catchy, the melody is amazing..especially the chorus...and the drums....golly I love everything about it.
3. "Crooked Teeth" - Death Cab for Cutie, from "Plans" Wonderfully new Death Cab. There are 2 other songs on this album I think I might like more, but they are the most depressing songs ever. Therefore this one may have been bumped to the #1 spot. I love how he says the line, "You're so cute when you're slurring your speech but they're closing the bar and they want us to leave"
4. "American Low" by Cassino...Cassino is the new band featuring Nick and Tyler from Northstar...they recored 3 demos and they are up on PureVolume.com...PLEASE go download/listen to these songs. They are nothing like Northstar. More acoustic/folk-rock/alt-country kind of stuff...but still the amazing melodies and lyrics from nick torres. he kills me.
5. "Song 2" by the privates...featured on the new EP that you can purchase at the Basement on Oct 20th....this song is by far my favorite of the newer songs...jesus.
