1. I've watched a bit of ep 4 of Monstar raw and I love it more and more! I love Sul Chan more and more too, and his piano duet with Sun Woo made me grin from ear to ear. Hooray for bromance.
2. Still am obssessed with the Black Jewels. I was going to wait to start book 2 but after that amazing ending to book 1, I cannot.
Where I am at, Daemon has gone to free Lucivar, as a good brother should. Only to discover that Lucivar might gut him first, since he thinks D killed Jaenelle. Ooops. I am NOT happy with the fact Lucivar thinks Daemon killed Jaenelle, when Daemon gave up his sanity and possibly his life to save her. But then I suppose there wouldn't be all the angst.
Seriously, Lucivar, I am going to bitchslap you into the next world! How can you believe Daemon would do that to Jaenelle? He's your brother who protected you forever. (Granted, you guys come from the family that seems to love incest and murder in inordinately high quantity, but what's a little barrier like that to true brotherly trust?) Also, you say things calculated to hurt his psyche when he is most vulnerable so as to torture him? Congrats, if he goes mad due to Hekate's lies (oh, wait, he does!), it will be because you prepped him by breaking him. For nothing. You suck and I hope Daemon sends you no birthday presents for the next 10,000 years.
OK, backtracking - so this happened - "He screamed again and tumbled into the shattered inner landscape landens called madness and the Blood called the Twisted Kingdom." Congratulations, people. You broke Daemon. (I think he has somehow come to believe that he is the one who raped/killed Jaenelle during a fit of madness and OMFG that is so far from the truth, it's in another Universe and seriously, Anne Bishop, you have hundreds of pages to put the angst into, you don't need to dump it all into the beginning of your opus, breathe).
And then we get bits like this - "He followed her, always begging her to wait, always pleading with her not to be afraid, always hoping to hear the sound of her voice, always yearning to hear her say his name. If only he could remember what it was." Inside Daemon's head is not a good place atm as he's utterly insane by now.
Which brings me to my point - is nobody in this Universe concerned that the most powerful dude in the realm is stark raving mad? Worry, people! You want to live, right? Should have been nicer to him, Lucivar. I hope you enjoy the salt mines for a long long time!
