Myung-Wol the Spy, quick first impression
I checked out the first ep of Myung Wol the Spy raw and I like like like what I saw! It's breezy, fun, fast-paced, and Eric and Han Ye Seul have insane chemistry.
Phew. Seriously, in every one of their scenes, I just wanted them to be ripping clothes off each other.
If you are looking for deep, nuanced, or dark, look elsewhere (I'd be happy to recommend some dramas to satisfy this craving!). If Prosecutor Princess was Mawang goes romcom, MWtS is Shiri through a romcom lens. There is, however, a difference between light and stupid and MWtS treads firmly with the former - just because a drama is not searing and complex doesn't mean it isn't smartly made or with a potential for genuine emotional stakes.
All in all, a total winner. I will, however, try to wait until it's halfway aired and subbed because it looks like it would be more fun as a marathon than agonizing over a wait week-to-week. Let's see how long my patience lasts (hint - probably not that long).
