No points for guessing they are shippy.
Seriously, how are they so perfectly what I want in OTPs?
Scene I. When she's still Dong Zhuo's concubine. You know, Minister's plan is so brilliant precisely because Diaochan is in love with Lu Bu. She isn't doing it to lead him on to kill DZ. Yes, she wants DZ dead because Daddy Evilest blackmailed her into being patriotic bait (don't even get me started on the fact that she has to protest time and time again to DZ that she can't live without him and can't stand LB and doesn't want to go to him when DZ offers to send her. That's got to be making a mess in her head). But still, all she is saying is true because she loves him and wants to be with him and wants DZ dead so she can be with him.
OK, Lu Bu, honey, I love you - you are brave and hella pretty, not to mention are the sole character in this I think wouldn't be utter hell to hook up with because you are the only one who seems capable of loving a woman as opposed to just seeing her as a lust-satisfying broodmare, but you, sweetie, are really not that bright. Seriously, Minister and Gongtai are pulling you around like a puppet. A sexy deadly puppet with gorgeous long hair and emo eyes...wait, where was I?
Lu Bu after offing DZ. I actually love it when he (or other characters in this, for that matter) look deadly, dangerous, and ruthless.
This scene made me die and I revived only to cap. Good thing I had the door closed or else Mr. Mousie would have thought I went nuts. Oh, and
tihanasan, you are right, it did give me a Mars vibe.
Sadly, folks, this is a period cdrama, so that's all we get on that front. (Or, as per
alexandral, this is period cdrama equivalent of hot passionate sex :P)
I about died when war breaks out again and Lu Bu must ride out on campaign and battle and he says he's taking Diaochan with him. EEEEEEE! He refuses to be separated from her and takes his wife on his campaigns? Color me swooning.
Bonus which is here just because he's so darn pretty. I've always liked Peter Ho before, but I never crushed on him before now. Now I am sort of a puddle of goo every time he appears on screen.
I loooove the look on Gongtai's face when he hears that pronouncement - Lu Bu is such a freak by the standards of his society.
I have guests all Sunday so no more Three Kingdoms for me until Monday which is probably just as well for my sleep patterns and sanity :)
Also, I am now thinking Summer Desire would have been a lot more entertaining if Peter Ho and Huang Xiaoming showed up as Lu Bu and Yang Guo instead of their SD roles and decided the shippy rivalrly by various fighting bouts to the (almost) death once per episode. And Barbie Hsu would actually be playing her Meteor Garden character and periodically kick both their asses when their battles would destroy her furniture too much. It would be the best drama ever.
