I am sort of obsessed with Rock Rock Rock

Probably because you get to see things that are normally verbotten in kdramas - rock music! drugs! suicide attempts! premarital cohabitation (in high school, no less)! jail time for crimes actually committed!

Won't someone think of the children!

And also because of No Min Woo's performance - like mookiehyun, I have previously thought he was a rock take on Kim Hyun Joong - a gorgeous guy made out of solid wood. That was probably an unfair assumption, since the one previous role I've seen him was in MGIAG which demanded nothing of him but to be pretty - the role's literal requirements were probably "humanoid-shaped block of wood." In RRR, he is actually given something to do other than to stand looking vaguely pained while staring at the heroine, and oooooooh boy - he seriously blew my socks off. (And if I were an unmarried lady, probably other bits of clothing too).

Anyway, this is a long version of "please watch RRR - it's only 4 eps and pure awesome".

And even if you won't here are caps from two of my favorite scenes. One because it's my favorite scene in the drama ('tis the shipper in me, I admit) and the other because I am a sucker for rain scenes well done.

I am total sucker for a rain scene done well. I especially loved this one because unlike in a typical kdrama, this is the end for this couple - first love doesn't win over all and sometimes things don't work out - and nope, you can't live on love alone. I loved it. (Being a nosy parker and knowing these people are all real makes me so curious about what happened to the girlfriend - I mean, did she get married and went on to live a normal respectable life and occasionally see a concert on tv or something and go 'yeah, I remember that guy, he tried to off himself over me.' It's gotta be odd, especially for the husband :P).

And here is my favorite scene. It made me almost understand the appeal some ladies find in really screwed-up trainwreck guys. Almost. (Though seeing that during their first meeting he spent all the time talking about another woman, and she had to drag him home because he was so drunk, she probably wasn't under delusions about what she was getting into).

OK, I kid I kid to hide the fact that my cynical little heart melted all over the place with this scene, where he wants her to record the song with him because he wrote it for her.

I have a ton more caps so expect more RRR posts as soon as I sort through them. Meanwhile have a clip from a 2002 Buhwal performance.
