Kdramas never do this, though God knows they sorely need it.
Oh my Holy God.
The problem with the course of action Min Woo has undertaken - namely, responding to his father's command to break up with Miju or else Daddy Satan will harm her, by telling him that he will never break it off and that if Satan harms Miju, he, Min Woo, will kill himself because without her his life is not worth living - is that in order for it to work, Satan has to care about his kid's well-being or even existing. Which, as long as his plans go the way he wants, Satan does not.
Thus, instead, Satan's reaction is to institute a rage-filled beatdown of his son (nice to know he's kept those interrogation cell skills in active use), yelling at him that he's brought him into this world and he'll take him out. Satan does not like people thwarting him or not being in his control.
I love how even borderline unconscious, Min Woo is totally unflinching - he is never giving up Miju.
Satan's flunkie has to hold him down because filicide would probably not look good on his resume when he runs for a next election.
So Satan screams at Min Woo that he gives him three days to solve the situation and if he does not solve it, Min Woo won't be the only one they'll be burying. Sadly, it is not a suicide threat (well, he does seem to have a stable of assassins so I am sure they will give him a discount for Miju).
Miju is walking to Min Woo's apartment when she passes on the street by exiting Satan. Smart girl, she remembers he's Min Woo's father (how fitting - her one memory of the dude is him slapping Min Woo) and hurries to MW's house.
It's not every day you show up to cook your sweetie some dinner only to discover him bleeding and unconscious on the floor.
Say it with me - AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW.
She ends up ministering to him and he asks her to go home because it's getting late but she insists on spending the night because she wants to cook him porrige (sick people food) in the morning. Can we repeat - AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW?
She watches by his bedside and leans to tuck him in.
Only he wasn't sleeping.
She freezes but all he does is whisper "Five minutes. No. Just one" and clutches her. I am wearing this exclamation out but AWWWWW.
She tells him she is sorry he has to go through all that just for her and he tells her to stop it
"Thanks to you, I found happiness for the first time in my life. I'll never let you go, so don't even dream of leaving me."
"To make you mine, there is nothing I can't do."
And then he leans down (btw, his shirt collar is still bloody asdfjglhkhgkgj!)
Then he reaches for the tie that holds up her shirt:
And she puts her hand over his, stopping him.
So he stops.
And then she removes her hand, giving him permission.
(Yes, he is crying. OMGINDEED).
You can't tell from the stills, but their mouths are open. How very shocking! (Completely unrelated, but is it just me or does the actor who plays Min Woo look freakishly like Jo In Sung in the makeout scene?)
Morning after.
This was beyond perfect.
Is it infantile of me to want to stop on ep 32 and not go any further because I am pretty sure the next ep is where Miju finds out Min Woo is their hereditary enemy, Satan Jr., etc etc etc. DO NOT WANT. Ok, writers, let's make a deal. You don't have to get main OTP back together, but please please give Miju and Min Woo a happy ending. Pleaaaaaaase. I like them better than the main OTP anyway. Please!
