Pick the Stars - Transformation of a Grinch
You know, Pick the Stars doesn't have much in common with Brilliant Legacy but there is one thing which is very similar - I started out the drama loathing its putative hero, the icy, selfish lawyer Kang Ha, and now by ep 8 I genuinely like him.
(I so need an icon of this, it would come in super handy).
I don't ship him with Pal Kang yet (and to the drama's credit, there has been no overt romance between them yet - romance is not the focus of the drama) but their enjoyable bickering is a total treat. He's now just cranky and put-upon (it's pretty clear who is boss and it's not him :P) but he is thawing to the kids at a rapid pace (he totally is super-soft on Parang, the little sleepwalker), and is generally acting human - actually, probably more so than average - all the stuff that Pal Kang pulled at the end of ep 8 (I laughed so hard I almost died), I probably would have lost it by that point and instead, after she got his car stolen, had him wander in the winter weather in wet clothes and no coat, insisted on stopping for food (paid by him!), instead he got prodded by her to buy a whole load of sweet potatoes for the kids. Awww. You are so very licked, Kang Ha, and it's very entertaining. (I also think he is beginning to like her, but she, of course, couldn't care less).
The funny thing is, I didn't find the actor attractive at all before, even though objectively I knew he was a good-looking guy, but now he'a actually being a grouchy sweetheart, all of a sudden I am noticing how ridiculously hot he is.
He sees her walking and offers her a ride. I love her WTF reaction. Heeee. Little does the poor man know!
This bit with Nami (as all the bits where he had take care of the kids) made me giggle until I was sick and also awww just a bit. He is so BAD AT IT but he tries so hard. LOLOL.
The best part is when after it all - after he got baby poop all over himself, after his car got stolen, after she made him take the subway and a drunk person puked on him, after she washed his shirt/suit in public restroom but there was no hand-dryer so she couldn't dry it, after he had to walk home with him wearing wet clothes in the winter, after she made him stop and get her a huge meal (and hot tea for him :P), and then she asked him to buy sweet potatoes for the kids and he bought twice as many (awww), they were walking back home and bickering and it was so very hilarious and seriously, I wouldn't have blamed him if he was ready to kill her by that point but he was just resigned and dorky. Heh.
Their little outing from hell got him sick even if he is going to deny it to the death. I want somebody to make me porridge and cooling drinks - I have a bad cold too! (I also love that she does it because she is grateful, she has no romantic interest in him whatsoever).
