What is your biggest drama disappointment?

You know how it goes - you get so excited about a particular cast of an upcoming drama only for the actors to pull out (Hong Gil Dong - though in this case I preferred the new cast). Or the drama episode order gets ridiculously cut screwing up the rhythm (wtf Strike Love!) or way extended so it drags like mad (Goong, though I still love the result ( Read more... )

Mostly, Mei-chan no Shitsuji and Ryusei no Kizuna - both had awesome beginnings and I was completely invested in both as it was airing, downloading the episodes as soon as they were uploaded and watching them RAW. But with Mei-chan, it ended up going downhill halfway in, while Ryusei no Kizuna lasted until the last two episodes which were just really, really boring. But hey, it was losing its charm a few episodes before that, anyway.

I hate it when that happens.

I've stopped looking forward to shoujo manga/ikemen dramas. I loved HYD and Hanakimi so much I don't know why all the others disappoint, but it seems like every season there's a new fandom favorite that fails to grab me (Yukan Club, Mei-chan, Atashinchi no Danshi).

I have to say Triple was a reverse disappointment -- my interest died when Kang Ji Hwan dropped out, but I gave it a chance anyway and now I'm utterly in love with Lee Jung Jae, can't imagine anyone else playing the character.

I didn't even like Hanakimi - I am clearly a lost cause :)

Ditto on Mei-chan 'cos i couldn't stand the story. Which is funny 'cos i thought i'd hate Atadan on the same reasons but i think the male actors totally won me over.

Oh and BOF was pretty brutal.

What about dramas that have endings that you totally and utterly hate which sort of ruin the rest of what you've watched? 'Cos i know plenty of those. ¬____¬

Don't watch it! I wish someone had stopped me before the finale of LF. It cast a shadow on the whole drama for me.

ITA on the fake guy roommate romcom, I don't care who starred in it I just loved the concept.

Iron Empress- I wanted to love it but after the 2nd episode where basic and logical tactics were abandoned in favour of a showy fight scene I knew it wasn't the drama for me.

Peach Girl-Love the manga but my word the drama was terrible.

The biggest disappointment for me probably was Hong Gil Dong, it started really good but disintegrated into "What???" and never really pulled itself out of sexist stereotypes. The second one was "Delightful girl" - I liked it up to a point but from somewhere in the middle the couple's constatnt bickering and misunderstanding became boring. I ff-ded it at the high speed.

A smaller one was "Powerful Opponents" - the ending was rather odd, but I really saw it coming and also now when I think about it I don't dislike the ending THAT much.

I agree with the comment above about Triple to be a good example of reverse - I liked Kang Ji Hwan much more than Lee Jung Jae before the drama but I am totally smitten by Lee Jung Jae now.

PO - I am still so mad about the ending because it wrecked the whole drama for me :(

I am waiting to see how Triple ends before checking it out :)
