How to love your half-sisters. Now with swords...
After My Lucky Star (am currently on ep 12), I have developed quite a thing for Jimmy Lin. So imagine my delight in discovering he did a bunch of dramas involving swords. In fact, apparently MLS is his first modern series. SQUEE.
And first to the top of the queue? The 2003 adaptation of Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils, which is a story that involves martial arts, intrigues, politics, etc. But most importantly to me, Jimmy Lin is a protagonist who should probably never ever hook up with a female because his father was a total manslut thus there is a severe chance any girl he fancies might be his half sister.
Case in point? His true love is played by Crystal Liu (with whom he falls in love at first sight, and who can blame him?). But not only is she fixated on her psycho cousin, poor Jimmy might just discover she is his half-sister...or is she? Woe. Woe. WOE :D Did I mention the part where this other female character is in love with him but is all anguished because he turns out to be her half-brother? LOL.
BWAH. Only dramas can make stories with multiple potential cest possibilities seem normal!
