Touhou has one of the fastest growing fanbase in Japan. It's one of the more popular bullet-hell games, and coined the term danmaku shooter. To quote anon: "Even the bullets shoot bullets!" (this is not true, but you get the idea). It's produced by Team Shanghai Alice, which in reality is a one-man studio.

Finished watching Ghost Hunt yesterday, and the second last story arc about a huge manor that used to be a hospital/orphanage (Thief 3's the Cradle?) renovated into some bizarre surrealist dream was among the creepiest anime I've watched. I'm following Kobato, because Madhouse seems to have gotten it right, judging from the not-over-the-top first two episodes. I also like the concept of a mahouless mahoushoujo in this. So I got back my GeForce card from warranty, and updated the drivers which caused the Nvidia control panel to disappear at cost of better speeds (are all newer Forceware this wonky?). Also downloaded the latest PCSX2 svn build, and somehow I felt Persona 4 now looks slightly sharper and not blurrific. Maybe I'd get down to finishing that. Or Mass ( Read more... )

This week's episode held over due to Japanese election coverage. Last week, individual tourney start as TakoYuki leads the rankings. Geass girl fights Hisa, and Saki pretty much doesn't do anything spectacular. This is one of those weird animes that are named after the main character who doesn't get much screentime in a lot of episodes.
