Popping me Blog Cherry
So this is my first entry. Thought it'd be kinda cool to use this as a sounding board for my rants, raves and news! It should be a good medium for me to look back on too and see how I've changed.
Anyway, this week is the lead up to ARRG's First Birthday Party! I can't believe our Roller Derby Team has been going for a year. Its amazing to think how far we've come :) I am official Fundraising Head for the tournament and have been organising parties from almost day one, but this one is the hardest one yet. The venue, at the last moment have said its going to cost us £250 when we were advised, on good authority, that it would be free! They've waited 4 days before the event to spring this on us! The stress from the whole Fundraising team has hit gigantic proportions and I'm trying to keep eveyone happy, as well as, organising like a mother bitch!
I know, as usual, it will be alright on the night, but this used to be a fun, almost thearaputic process. Anyway, we have the flyer and promotions in order, all the raffle prizes, cakes and merch! If all else fails I'll decorate the hall, stand on the door for 10 minutes then start drinking like a fish :)
I have practice tonight so I'll remind all the girls to bring friends who'll bring friends who'll bring friends...yadda yadda.
Watch this space for the outcome and possible resignation of my duties!
