I thought I was **this close** to getting the car sold. I had two people interested in it enough to stop by. But they didn't. So I still have a car. And if I play my cards just right, I'll be able to pay my bills well enough though this month and next. In August, I'll have my financial aide check (assuming I get as much as I think I'm getting) and that'll help lots. I'm thinking mostly about keeping it for around town and have Dad look at it when he comes to get me in July. If it what Dria and I think it is (engine being mucked up by oil being spilt all over it), I'll plunk the money down to get the engine cleaned and fixed up. It almost looks like oil was dumped down the front of the engine. Its due for an oil change here in a month or two. I'm hoping the mechanics on Wheeling have their back to school special (and as a BSU student, I get a discount) on an oil change and engine check. Because if that's the case, I can get it cleaned up for relatively cheap and that means I have a car that I can take home when and if I need to make the 4 hr drive. So for now I'll pay July's insurance, finally transfer the title over to myself and get the plates renewed. I put $15 in gas (got half a tank, not too bad at $2.70/gal), so I can toodle around town. Having this car means a lot to me, as many of you know, but even more so with Autumn gone. Dria still has no car and its not sure when she'll get one. Having the car (even in the not so good shape she is in) makes me feel better in a lot of ways.
Mom and I talked about getting it cleaned up. The inside is NASTY hardcore. So I'm thinking of taking it to one to a self serve car wash, scrub the car down and get it washed up, and then use their vaccuums to clean the inside of the car. It'll take $20 to vaccuum it up, but atleast it will be presentable. I absolutely HATE the car's interior. If I'm gonna pump money into it, I'm gonna have a nice car. Dad's spoiled me into having cars with interiors that are spankin' new looking. I can't drive with an interior that icky. Plus, if I do keep it in the long term, I'm reupholstering the ceiling (you heard me, reupholster). This car will be the moose-mobile if I get my way. :-) In any case, Mom pointed out that the cleaner the car, the more money I'll get because it looks like a decent car. The real estate idea- smart thinkin' mom! So one day next week, its shorts, my bikini top and a pocket full of change to go clean my car. Once the basics are taken care of, I can easily go from there. Plus the more money I put into this thing, the more I can get out of it if and when I do decide to sell it. Smart thinkin, no?
Sesssion 1 is done. I think I pulled away with really good grades. Hovering between a B+ and A- in both classes. Either way, I'm making Deans list this summer. Plus if I get an A next session, I think I'll pull a 2.5 GPA by the end of this summer. Classes were okay. I liked them well enough and I'm hella glad I took them in the summer. All that info crammed into 5 weeks made it easier as opposed to it being spread out over the course of 16 weeks. It was a lot, but I seriously did better because there was no time to forget what I had just learned. And I got better too. I still have trouble with dates, but I made flashcards (yeah, that's how serious I was) and I am dead certian I kicked ass and took names on the ID portion of the test. The last essay about Machiavelli's The Prince was a bit rough since I didn't get past the introduction (well I didn't do much beyond the intros in the other books anyway), but I'm a good BSer. I feel confidant about last session. Session 2 starts Monday and I'm not sure about the prof (heard she was a hardass), but since its American history 1877- present, if I don't get an A, then I'm droping the history major, lol. So here's to next session and to great grades from last session.
The 4th of July is coming up. Its been a few years since I was here during the summer. I don't know where the best fireworks are, but I wish I was gping to be home. Highland's 4th Fest is always fun (unless some kid dies on a ride, but whatev) and the fireworks at Homestead are always great. Well, minus the msquetoes, but still really nice. Its not like I have the $$ to go to a carinval, but that's what makes the 4th so fun. Plus the food? Holy shit, I've been thinking of turkey legs and donut sundaes (yeah, that's 40 lbs right there) and funnel cakes and fried cheese sticks (holy shit, talk about heart attacks. Jesus Christ). I'll have to find something to do. I don't work Tuesdays anymore and I won't have class. Maybe Dria would go watch fireworks with me, if she's around. It'll be fun. What I do need to do is wash my laundry because Grandma bought me a shirt (3 hybiscus is red white and blue with the word America in block print underneath. Something I can easily wear year round. And its a nice shirt, so I can wear it someplace and look decent) and I want to wear it on the 4th. Such a nerd, no? LOL!
You can tell its June. Everyone is getting married or engaged. Autumn's home continuing with her wedding plans, Dria's brother got married at the beginning of the month, Amanda from Rec got married the weekend after (or before? can't remember), and Banta relayed two different weddings he's attended a week apart. Its that time of year I guess, but damn people, can we be a little more creative over what month to marry in? Jesus. Plus all the shows on TV are doing their wedding shows. I already know what I want for my wedding. A wisconsin lodge and a moose as a cake topper. Everything else is negotable.
Happy Birthday to my Grandma!!!!
