I suppose an update is once again in order.

I saw Wayne and Pauline and Jen on Saturday. It's been a while. I used to spend a good amount of time with them but not so much lately. I finally figured I'd give them a call and go see them. Wayne's mother, whose house they live in, recently died. So they are rearranging their stuff to give Jen her own apartment there. They're having this guy they know do a lot of work but frankly he's not doing a very good job. The place is a mess because they never get rid of anything. I told them they need to get a dumpster when it warms up and I will come over to help.

I finally decided to upgrade my camera to a DSLR by getting the Canon Digital Rebel XSi. My old Powershot was never very good (autofocus took so long and it was horrible in low light) but it finally died. Turns out there was a recall on it (as well as Ryan's camera which is one step below my old one) so it's getting fixed for free even though it's out of warranty, but that doesn't make me regret getting the new one. It's going to take some getting used to, but my impressions so far as positive. I look forward to getting some good use from it.

I still need to make an appointment with the allergist my doctor recommended to me. Having an allergy to cats is bad enough, but developing an allergy to dogs now? I just can't live like that. How anyone can spend long periods of time without being around a dog baffles me! I feel so bad about giving Prince away because of allergies, and I want to get another dog. But I have to put off the appointment until probably next month because between Christmas and getting screwed out of my holiday pay, I am low on cash right now. Buying that camera certainly didn't help, and I wasn't even aware that I was going to be screwed out of the holiday pay at that point.

The plumber came over to quote me on adding a second bathroom off of the home theater room. Looks like with me doing the concrete and framing work it will cost me around $2000. I think that's totally worth it. I will be starting on it sometime in the next few weeks I think. It makes me wonder when all of this work is going to be done, but I think it's worth the time to save some money and also make sure it's done how I want it, even though it gets me tired and stressed at times.
