Day 1 of drumming:
after work went to Campbell's to pick up a metronome, and a "Teach Yourself to Drum book"
read background of drumming
learned how to hold sticks, both traditional way and matched way
learned how to properly strike the drum
in the process of learning the basic stroke pattern, can play it slow - medium, working on playing it fast (in a relaxed mood) basic stroke pattern being RLRLRLRLRL and so on.
learned that I need to buy a new snare drum as this one doesn't have good sound to it
in the process of keeping time with the metronome, going to be learning that over the next few weeks too
