A wise man* once said: "Don't cross the streams"

I'm trying to finish up an entire release before I leave town for Dragon*Con tomorrow, but I feel I need to weigh in on LJ's latest fuckwittery.

LJ's new implementation of pingback will report links in locked posts, and will include up to 600 words of post content, including content from locked posts.

To disable pingback, go here.

I would also like to request that people not cross-post anything in my journal to Facebook or Twitter. The cross-posting function apparently also does not respect locking, because LJ has apparently decided we don't really want to keep stuff private just because we're fucking locking it. Here are some ways to disable the buttons. I am on Facebook under my real name, and I really don't want to make any accidental associations between that name and my fannish activity here, or to have random Facebook or Twitter users wandering through my journal.

Ugh!

I have a bunch of Dreamwidth invite codes. Email me at my user name [at] livejournal.com (oh the irony) if you want one.

Dr. Egon Spengler counts as a wise man, right?
