It was a good one. We did a lot of things but didn't have a lot of plans. Just going with the flow was wonderful.
After work on Friday I picked up some things from a friend - a ton of baby stuff that I purchased for a very good price. I am glad I have a walk-up attic to store these things in. Brian and I had time to hang around the house a bit before heading out to a friend's on the South Shore for pizza delivery, Clone Wars and chatting. It is great talking to them about their own experiences with pregnancy and parenting and thinking of how our life will change soon.
Given my cold and being a bit overwhelmed with the amount of stuff we needed to find room in the house for, we decided to skip the mothers of twins sale I was going to hit in Needham. Brian wanted more electronics stuff to mess with, so after bagels
http://www.yelp.com/biz/cafe-fresh-bagel-needham-heights we hit
http://youdoitelectronics.com/. I picked up a great book for our oldest nephew who is now in the robotics club at the high school. The rest of our day was for us! We headed home via Main Street to see where a potential daycare was located (very convenient location) and passing the common noticed some kind of activity going on. There was a concert/faire to earn funds for the
http://www.edinburgcenter.org/ that we checked out for a bit, and then crossed over to the Farmer's market to
http://walthamfarmersmarket.org/ to get a snack, peruse the goods (picked up some tangerine jam) and hung out with a sweet rehabilitated pit bull for a while, chatting with its owner. Brian decided he wanted to pick up the new DC Comics, so we walked up Moody to
http://www.yelp.com/biz/the-outer-limits-waltham and headed back down to the car - we had killed enough time that the Waltham Farm Day
http://communityfarms.org/ was about to start. Heading over there, I picked up a birthday gift for Mom from one of the vendors and a cute Waltham Farm onesie for the babe. They had some pick-your-own opportunities, free pumpkins, activities for kids and apples for sale. Apples! It was still early and the weather was clear at the moment, so we decided to head out to our favorite orchard to buy some along with some cider and most importantly, cider donuts! I love the drive out to
http://www.honeypothill.com/, and love visiting their petting area (bunnies)! We managed to score hot fresh cider donuts, got some small jugs of cider to have on the ride back and picked up a bag of apples for baking. Still early in the day! Brian had grabbed so many little odd things at You Do It Electronics, that he wanted to head to Natick to get some kind of small toolbox to put them in - time to check out the newly opened Harbor Freight store! The traffic on Speen street was nuts in both directions: we hit Harbor Freight and cut through the Home Depot parking lot on the way back to take route 30 home. Long, long but fun day! We relaxed at home for a bit and Brian made some homemade chicken soup (we had roasted some chicken legs the day before in the crock pot for the purpose) before heading to dinner at The Chateau. Townie - I ran into one of my Dad's cousin's there! We spent the night before I fell asleep watching the first movie of the SW Blu Ray set - A New Hope. Gorgeous!
There was a Zombie Radio/Organ Beats show that night, but we didn't go since I've been fighting this neverending cold and we had to get up early for a troop at Newton Wellesley Hospital. We were there at 8:00 AM with another couple to greet walkers in there
http://giving.nwh.org/Page.aspx?pid=406 fundraiser for their cancer center. We suited up (two of us pregnant ladies) and mingled with the crowd until they were off on their walk. Our weekends were catching up with us and we headed home to take care of stuff around the house for the rest of the day. Brian's chicken soup was amazing - the best he's made yet. We had a lot of recorded TV to catch up on and were couch potatoes for the evening - I was OK with this.
Such a great balance of stuff and relaxing. Not having a schedule is just heavenly - almost like being on vacation. I am enjoying not having ballet class on Saturday mornings. :)
