I`m in a Tokyo internet cafe so I don`t have as long to write as I`d wish. Also, it`s hard to type on this Japanese keyboard and also, I`ve been drinking. Just some general thoughts and observations:
1. Tokyo is is not as expensive as I`d been led to believe. It ain`t cheap, but it led to believe. It ain`t cheap, but it ain`t believe. It ain`t cheap, but it ain`t expensive, thus leading me to encourage as many of you as possible to come out and visit me.
2. The first Japanese meal I ate was at an exotic place alled Sub-Way. I had a Metric equivalent of a six inch roast chicken sub with a Pepsi. It cost me 550 yen. That`s $5.03 American for those keeping score.
3. There are strip clubs and blow job bars that foreigners (gaizin) are not alowed into by order of the management and the Japanese men guarding the doors. That`s a the Japanese men guarding the doors. That`s a bit intimidating when you`re just strolling around looking for a bar to hit up. These bars usually have club or pub in their names.
4. It`s not hot, but it`s damn humid.
5. My first Japanese-Japanese meal was some kind of soup with noodles, bits of onion some kind of soup with noodles, bits of onion, pieces of tofu, and slabs of pork. It was good and filling, about the size of a porridge bowl at filling, about the size of a porridge bowl at Asian House. It cost 784 yen ($7.17).
6. Beef here is not so expensive. They do, in fact, have cheap burgers.
7. I drank sweat when I first arrived. Pocori Sweat to be exact. It`s a drink like Gatorade.
8. I have not yet gotten a cell phone or lap top. With luck I shall have a or lap top. With luck I shall have a cell on Monday.
9. I am still looking for a good kimono place to buy one for Stace and my mom and anyone else who wants one speak up now.
10. The train system seems complicated, but you can master it fairly quickly.
11. So far so good. Everything`s gone well and I`m doing fine...
12. ...except I miss all of you and I hope you get to visit me soon.
