Just wanted to relay this story to you all.
Today, I go to the St. Paul Public Library to check out a couple books.
They have meters out in front, and I have no quarters.
I'm inside the library for approx. 2 minutes to get quarters.
I had a ticket on my windshield by the time I returned to my car.
It gets better.
The ticket wasn't only for an expired meter, but also for expired tabs.
$133.
So, I put money in the meter, take the ticket off after looking at it and put it in my bag.
Go back inside to check out the books.
9 minutes later, I walk back out to my car...
to find another ticket!!!!
A DIFFERENT cop, had driven by in that time, couldn't give me a ticket for an expired meter,
but found it necessary to tag me for tabs because there was no evidence of a previous ticket on my windshield.
Seriously, how does that even happen.
NINE MINUTES BETWEEN TICKETS.
So I hear that they can't charge you twice for the same offense.
But when I called to question the double ticketing fiasco, the officer told me to fix my tabs, take a picture of them on my car, bring the picture and tickets to a hearing officer, and no, they can't tell me that I won't get any fees waived.
Sweet.
Was it April Fool's Day yesterday orrrr...
In other news,
I got a killer deal on a pair of flat files to store my art in!!
A pair usually costs around $1200, but I got a pair for $75!!
I rule...sometimes.
I'm going to the Science Museum on Saturday, and then seeing Run Lola Run at midnight.
Stoked.
Congrats to my lady Stacey for getting into grad school!
I hope someday I can be that smart.
Ciao papi.
