October already

Well, well, isn't this year just flying by. Have to head on in to work soon. Went for a nice walk this morning in the Gungaderra Grasslands. Never been there before. http://sportslashlife.com/canberra-walks-gungaderra-grasslands/ I really enjoy exploring areas that I haven't been as yet. Though it seems I might have seen plenty in Canberra, there's still a whole lot to go.

I have also decided to start putting some writeups of different walks and things on the Sport/Life page, to give it some life. I will go back through some photos from earlier in the year to make some more posts. I'm also going to get back into the coverage of the Chilean sport.

Went skating yesterday in the evening. There is a bolt missing from my frame, so I think that might be time to put those skates into retirement after 10 years of service. Had the last two days of, which was refreshing, back to it today. We are going down to the coast next week as Grandma and Grandpa will be visiting, so that should be a lot of fun, then I am going to Melbourne the following week.

I was going to make a list of things to do for the month in this very post, but I don't think I will do that. I will however look at tracking my expenses etc. Haven't done that in a while and there could be some expensive periods, particularly with the trip down to Melbourne. It should be a pretty good month ahead though.

I went for a really good walk (Mt Majura Mt Ainslie circuit) with my friend Rob. He had gone over to Canada to work in the snow, then met a girl and he's moved to Reunion Island. He says it is illegal to swim there because the sharks have taken over, which is pretty full on. Anyway, we had a good chat along the way about international love things, living on a tropical island and ways of getting a job where you don't speak the language. Hopefully we can get in a few more walks before he gets his visa and takes off again. He made the suggestion of a walk around the lake, which could be quite interesting.

Anyway, I'd like to do plenty more walks and time on the bike this month. I am sure I will. Back to mentioning the walk, when we got to the top of Mt Ainslie, there were a bunch of emergency crews there, and a failry young boy had fallen somewhere and had to be rescued. Apparently it was the family's first day in Canberra, which would be the worst way to start a holiday. http://www.canberratimes.com.au/act-news/boy-slips-falls-50-metres-down-mount-ainslie-20150929-gjx3q9.html
