Strange world we live in. A quick perusal of my social media feeds shows me a big fuck-off earthquake in Chile (of many varying sizes), but seems 8.3 has been the agreement, VII on the Mercalli scale, which is pretty massive. Apparently all the family there are ok. Good one to miss.
We were just in Bendigo on the weekend. Our friend Joe, who has seen his share of quakes in Chile, has moved to Bendigo after a stint in Moree. Moree is well known for its racism, it was the centre of the "Freedom Rides" 50 years ago. Now is the chance for Bendigo to get on the map, with some anti-mosque protesting.

It seems that's gone done already. It was only for 6 months. Could have been good to put my hat in the ring. Too late now.
On the way back from Bendigo, that was a really long drive. Anyway, we got to Wagga and there was something on the news that there could be a spill on the leadership, so just after we got home they booted out the Prime Minister and there is a new one. The previous one was probably "worst ever" material, so let's see how the new bloke goes. Still same party still same policies, so not too much will change, but there might be less appearances of the PM on shows from guys like John Oliver etc showing him as a complete idiot.
As for me, I've had a cold for a while now and it doesn't seem to be going anywhere. It's not terrible though, but annoying. Also annoying has been going to work of late. Not a good vibe there at this time, which is a bit disappointing. Everyone just complains about the other workers there, which gets old over time. Not that I'm not contributing to that, but it doesn't give off a good energy.
3 days off coming up (Sun, Mon, Tue). That gives some energy. No travelling for this time. It was a bit of overload to go to Bendigo. We stayed in Albury on the way down which broke the journey up well, but just came straight back home, that was a full day of driving. It was interesting comparing the trip to my visit to Joe in Moree, which was just me, and a lot of skatepark stops and a lot of driving of course. This one had a few skatepark stops, but more stops for Baby Nico to go to the park etc.
Here's a video I made from the Eaglehawk skatepark in Bendigo, it was quite close to where we stayed.

Here's a couple of pictures. Paige came up from Melbourne as well, so it was great to see her. I'm going to Melbourne next month so that should be a bit of fun. The last couple of photos are from Echuca. We went a bit of a different way on the way back, rather than just going by the Hume, which is faster, but it's also boring. We did also stop in Shepparton on the way down. I applied for a job there early in our return to Aus. Let's just say it was a good one to miss.
